The environments kids grow up in shape who they become. Today those environments live on social media and AI — so that's where we work, turning the creators kids follow into partners for real youth programs that change what surrounds them.
At BeRemarkable we understand the impact of the environments that our youth develop in. What they see, hear, feel, and experience will leave an impression on them for the rest of their lives. Today those environments live on social media and AI tools — and the voices youth listen to most are the social media creators they follow.
BeRemarkable puts that influence to work — turning the creators kids look up to into the partners who help them be remarkable.
In 2015, I was the Influencer Relations Manager at Speakr — a social media company Deloitte had just named the 79th fastest-growing tech company in the country. From the inside, I watched the celebrity model of an entire generation flip over.
Kids stopped logging on to copy Hollywood. They logged on to watch creators who looked like them, talked like them, lived in rooms that looked like theirs. The most influential adult in a teenager's day wasn't a movie star anymore — it was a kid on a phone, with a ring light, who knew their slang.
And they were spending more time on that screen than any generation before them. Most adults I knew were terrified by it. Most of the nonprofit world still treats social media as the enemy — something to protect kids from.
I saw it differently. The kids aren't leaving the screen. But the people they love most are right there on it. So what if we used that — taking the creators kids actually listen to, and building real-life programs that pull them off the screen and back into the real world? Real rooms. Real communities. Real things to do.
That's why I started BeRemarkable. Pair the people kids love with the places that need them — and use the pull of the screen to get kids out from behind it.
Ten years later, the numbers only get louder, and the work matters more than ever. We're still building it.
